Is there a real biological white race?

(OBSERVATION)

While participating at (thecode.net) I observed when questions were asked of "white" people(including myself)-people who said they were "white"-about "whiteness and what makes a person "white". The "white" person:
- Hesitated to answer the question.
-Answered the question on the defense.
-Didn't answer the question at all.
-Had no significant evidence as to what makes a person "white"

(HYPOTHESIS)

There is no such thing as a "white" biological race. The term "white" is based on a behavior and mind collective.

I wanted to find out how many "white" people believed this and will admit to it.

(EXPERIMENTATION)

I asked only people who I thought were "white"-five questions.

The first question was to establish who they were. The last question was to establish if they truly believed there was such a thing as a biological "white" race.

Questions 2-3-4 were to establish what it means to be "white"

These are the five questions for the experiment:

1.) Are you a "white" person?
2.)Would you say I am a "white" person?
3.) If I told you I was a "non white" person would you look at me differently?
4.)Are "non white" people mistreated in our (social) system?
5.) Do you believe there is such a thing as a real "white" person?

Statement made before questioning .

-These questions are about the culture we live in.
-There are no right or wrong answers to these questions
-Because there are no right or wrong answers to these questions please answer honestly.

While asking these questions I kept my eyes on the paper I was reading from as to not have eye to eye contact with the person I was asking the questions to.

(OBSERVATION DURING QUESTIONING)

-Many but not all "white" people became disturbed during questioning.
-Disturbed "white" people wanted to know why I was asking the questions.
-Undisturbed "white" people wondered if they passed. As if the questions were a test.

How do I post the data? I am not done with this experiment. I need to ask more "white" people

Interviews began july of 2008. Last interview was in late september of 2008.

I am going to continue with this experiment. Ask more white people and post that data also.

I asked the participants to give yes and no answers only and if they had something else to say-to wait until the questioning was over.

Out of 27 interviews:

1. Are you a white person?-26 answered yes / 1 answered no

2. Would you say I am a white person?- 25 answered yes / 2 answered no.

3. If I told you I was a non white person would you look at me differently?- 3 answered yes / 24 answered no.

4. Are non white people mistreated in our social system?- 19 answered yes / 8 answered no.

5. Do you believe there is such a thing as a real white person?- 8 answered yes / 19 answered no.

So far the majority of people say they are white also say that I am white also say there is no such thing as a real white person.

The majority of people say non white people are mistreated.

The majority of people say they would not look at me differently if I told them I was non white.

This was the response of a disturbed person (male) after the interview who also answered no to every question.

Shane Hunter: Are you a white person?
Person: No.

Shane Hunter: Would you say I am a white person?
Person: No.

Shane Hunter: If I told you I was a non white person would you look at me differently?
Person: Nope.

Shane Hunter: Are non white people mistreated in our social system?
Person: No.

You stated 'No' when asked if you were a white person.

If I understand this experiment correctly, in point 2 you stated that 25 individuals stated you were white while 2 stated you were not. What makes this 25 out of 27 of the total people you asked (92%) think you were actually a white person, and also, what would make a mere 8% actually right?

Approx 2/3 (18) of the people I interviewed already knew me. 1/3 (9) of the people did not know me.

People who do not know me means people who I do not have a relationship with and have no personal connection. I don't know why 8 out of those 9 people said I was \"white\".

A change in ones mind set also has the effect of changing ones behavior. I believe that would have to be an experiment on its own,which I want to do also but for the purpose of this experiment it is the change in my mind set that interested me in doing this experiment.

I have observed that the majority of people who were willing to participate in this experiment became disturbed after the questions were asked-making negative comments or wanting to discuss in depth why I was running this experiment.

I have observed some of these participants treating me slightly different since the questioning which is an indication to me that the person asking the questions and the person answering the questions are not of the same mind set.[/quote]

Assuming that I just met you, is there the slightest possibility that I might mistake you for a 'white' person similar to the 8/9 individuals you mentioned earlier? A response of Yes or No would be fine.

One of the purposes of the experiment is to break down the lie that is "white".

From my understanding -if one answers (yes)to question 1 and 2 in effect they are lying if they answer (no) to question 5 which is why I saved question 5 for last.

In my observation it is question 4 and 5 that disturbed the participants the most and where they hesitated to answer the most.
