Suggestion:
Do not use words such as feminine or masculine when referring to gender.
Reason/ Explanation:
Feminine and masculine are behaviors not traits. Anyone can be trained to be "feminine" or "masculine" entire cultures have been built around such behaviors.
Anything that a species can be trained to do, is a behavior.
However, you cannot train a male to produce semen.
Likewise you cannot train a female to produce ovum.
These are naturally occurring events that will take place after the onset of puberty in a healthy male or female, regardless of behavior.
A non-white male that is trained to be attracted to "feminine" behavior can be trained to attempt sex with a male that has been trained to act "feminine".
A non-white female that is trained to be attracted to "masculine" behavior can be trained to attempt sex with a female that has been trained to act "masculine".
Evidence:
Look at the amount of non-white males that are now (or are in the process of considering) attempting sex with men that either appear "feminine" or have had "sex changes". Because these males are considered "feminine", and the males who are attempting sex with them consider themselves "masculine" they do not consider there behavior to be incorrect.
(this also applies to non-white females)
Look at the amount of non-white females, that are attempting sex with non-white males while also attempting sex with non-white females (this behavior is being seriously encouraged by the white supremacist often called bi-bisexuality and incorrect term used to cause confusion) Because these females consider themselves "feminine", and the females who they are attempting sex with consider themselves "feminine" they do not consider there behavior to be incorrect.
(this also applies to non-white males)

If so, what do you suggest they be?

After looking up how white people define gender, I now see how confusing that word is also. Your point on "replaced with other words" was also taken into consideration for the following refinement of the suggestion.
