Here is one of the processes I follow to "get things done". The process is to figure out "what's happening". I use this process in writing Counter-Racist Science Projects and in doing other things.

Overview:

Look at things just the way that they are from a scientific perspective...meaning not focusing on how it affects you...how you feel about it. Figure out why that thing is the way that it is. Then figure out if it should be doing what it is doing or that it shouldn't. Then figure out, if it shouldn't be doing what it is doing, figure out a way to stop that thing, that person, that whatever it is from doing what it is doing if it's destructive. Then figure out the constructive thing to do.

Counter-Racism is supposed to stop the practice of racism (white supremacy) by producing justice. Stop the destruction and produce constructive activity at the same time...no lag time between stopping the destructive action and then producing a constructive action. No...you stop the destructive action by producing constructive action.

Scenario:

A church has noticed it has to pressure wash two sides of the building more frequently than any other part of the building. They are the two sides of the building that do not face the streets that intersect. The church is located on a corner lot. The frequent pressure washing is destroying the paint on the building.

Process:

Question: Why is the paint being destroyed on two sides of the church faster than the rest of the church?
Answer: Because of the frequent pressure washing on those two sides of the church.

Question: Why do we have to pressure wash the two sides of the church so frequently?
Answer: Because of all of the bird droppings on those two sides of the building.

Question: Why are the bird droppings on those two sides of the building?
Answer: Because of the birds that hang out on those two sides of the building.

Question: Why do birds hang out on those two sides of the building?
Answer: Because there are a lot of spiders to eat on those two sides of the building.

Question: Why are there a lot of spiders on those two sides of the building?
Answer: Because of all the gnats flying around on those two sides of the building.

Question: Why are there a lot of gnats flying around on those two sides of the building?
Answer: Because we leave the lights on on those two sides of the building.

Question: Why do we leave the lights on on those two sides of the building?
Answer: Because those two sides of the building do not face the street and do not have the benefit of street lighting.

Primary Conclusion: This problem of the paint peeling only on two sides of the church was because the people that run the church leave the lights on on those two sides of the church.

After you can go as far as you can go with concrete information immediately move from WHY to HOW...meaning HOW to solve the problem. You have to tell yourself the truth at all times. If you don't know something say you don't know and try to find out. If there is no way to be sure that what you found out is truth stop at where the truth was about the problem. Don't go any further with conjecture, speculation, or anything else. You may end up not solving the problem at all or come up with some information that will not allow you to solve the problem. If you go further attempting to speculate you will get ahead of THE LOGIC to solve the problem.

HOW to solve the problem:

(1) Possible solution:

Question: How do we solve the problem of the frequent pressure washing of the church that is causing the paint to peel?
Answer: Use a different kind of lighting that doesn't attract gnats.

Question: How?
Answer: Someone will have to do the research to find out what kind of lighting we can use that doesn't attract gnats.

Question: How?
Ask people questions and read material on the subject.

Question: Who will do this?
Answer: I will.

One possible solution:

Question: How do we solve the problem of the frequent pressure washing of the church that is causing the paint to peel?
Answer: Turn the lights off on those two sides of the church.

Question: How?
Answer: Place the switch in the off position and leave it there forever.

Question: Who will do this?
Answer: I will.

(2) Possible solution:

Question: How do we solve the problem of the frequent pressure washing of the church that is causing the paint to peel?
Answer: Put the lights on a timer.

Question: How?
Answer: Someone will have to do the research to find out what kind of lighting we can use that doesn't attract gnats, how long we can leave the lights on before they cycle off, and how much that will reduce the number of frequent washes of the church.

Question: How?
Answer: Ask people questions and read material on the subject.

Question: Who will do this?
Answer: I will.

(3) Possible solution:

Question: How do we solve the problem of the frequent pressure washing of the church that is causing the paint to peel?
Answer: Use a different paint.

Question: How?
Answer: Someone will have to do the research to find out what kind of paint we use and what kind of washing fluid is being used to see if the two are compatible.

Question: How?
Answer: Ask people questions and read material on the subject.

Question: Who will do this?
Answer: I will.

Problem Solution:

Who would know that in order to solve the problem of paint peeling only on two sides of the church was due to leaving the lights on? Asking WHY to the point where you can reveal truth is essential. Beyond revealing truth asking questions will get you nothing but confusion.

Once you have something concrete you can work with and have taken truth as far as you can take it before you begin to speculate...STOP RIGHT THERE! That us where you'll have to work the problem.

Counter-Racism is about problem solving. You begin to solve all of the problems you have as an individual and codify, meaning following THE LOGIC necessary to solve that problem, all of your speech and/or action.

Plot out all of your possible solutions and then pick one that will have the greatest impact using the least amount of energy. Once you begin to do this your mind will begin to function this way. Before long you will not have to write anything down.
